CAPRIVI

Namibia Safari & Zambezi Queen Collection Houseboat Stay (7/8 nights)

This combination itinerary, which includes a Namibia safari through the country’s breathtaking landscape, highlights just how versatile the Zambezi Queen Collection is in terms of various destination possibilities.

Departing from Windhoek, your journey takes you through Okahandja, one of the biggest woodcarver markets in Namibia, before continuing via Otjiwarongo towards your lodge in Otavi. The remainder of this first afternoon is spent at your leisure.

Continuing north to Rundu, you’ll stop at the Hoba meteorite just before lunch, where you’ll see the landscape change to become more rural and lush. Arriving at your lodge near Mahango Game Park, freshen up before embarking on a spectacular game viewing sunset cruise on the Kavango River. Return to the lodge in time for dinner.

Day three will require an early start in order to make the most of the day. You’ll begin the morning with a drive into the Mahango Game Park early enough to find the game still active along the scenic flood plains. Returning to the lodge, you’ll resume your journey, this time to the Popa Falls, a series of rapids formed by the Kavango River. The route takes you through the Caprivi Game Reserve for a picnic lunch before heading for your lodge near Mudumu National Park. Here, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking game-viewing cruise on the Kwando River before dinner.

Starting off day four, you’ll get the opportunity to join a cultural tour at the Living Museum of the Mafwe people for an authentic and fascinating insight into the life and traditional culture of this tribe. Return to the lodge for an afternoon of relaxation before joining the afternoon cruise.

Fishing

The tour continues to the town of Katima Mulilo on the banks of the Zambezi River, where you’ll stop for lunch. Next, you’ll continue on to the Namibia/Botswana border before reaching Kasane via the Chobe National Park. You’ll spend a night at a lodge on the banks of the Chobe River, from where you’ll do a late afternoon game-viewing cruise that’s perfect for spotting large herds of elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and an abundance of birds.

The next day, you’ll leave the rest of the group behind and board one of our luxury houseboats in the Zambezi Queen Collection for the last leg of your journey.
